Amazon plans to prove itself as a fun place to work on its first day of work in India on September 16. Amazon Career Day is a free event on September 16, 2021, at 10:00 am IST. “This collaborative experience is for all job seekers, regardless of job level, professionalism, or background – whether you are interested in working on Amazon or elsewhere,” the company said in a statement.
India is the second largest technology destination in the Amazon. “On this Day of Action, we look forward to sharing our long-term commitment to India’s 21st century empowerment, and job opportunities to empower this legacy,” Amazon India Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of State Amit Agarwal said in a statement, PTI reported.
Amazon has decided to employ more than 8,000 people in India. Career options are still distributed to all fields like technology, customer services and jobs in places like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Noida, among others.
“We have more than 8,000 direct jobs in 35 cities across the country, including cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Kolkata, Noida, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Pune, Surat.
Varma noted that Amazon also hires machine learning science and uses jobs like HR, finance, law, etc. The company aims to create 20 lakh, direct and indirect job opportunities, by 2025, and has already created 10 lakh direct and indirect jobs in India, he said.
